How to Join
Visiting a cadet weekend training event is a great opportunity to come visit and check out the MCI cadet program. We do permit one visit with limited participation prior to joining the program so prospective cadets can gauge their interest. MCI’s enrollment fee for cadets outside of Marshall County is $145. Cadets residing in Marshall County Iowa are free or greatly reduced due to grant funding from the Marshalltown Area United Way.

i cannot say enough great things about his program, or the Goslingas who volunteer their time to run it. He spend five years in program, starting as a bit of a wayward pre-teen, to leaving for Navy bootcamp on 2/25/25 just 6 weeks after turning 18 & graduating high school early. The impact that this program had on him is immeasurable. While I would hope that any youth who join this program would commit to joining the Armed Forces, even for those who don’t, this program will serve them well.
“This youth program developed me beyond my expectations and set me up well for my future in ROTC. The leadership training and experiences were beneficial and will stick with me for life.”
